"Training Rules" (winner of the Pink Peach Award at the Atlanta Film Festival) (Now available on DVD)

SYNOPSIS:
Narrated by international swimming legend Diana Nyad, TRAINING RULES examines how women’s collegiate sports, caught in a web of homophobic practices, destroyed the dreams of many of its most talented athletes. After years of discrimination documented here, Portland was sued by a player and Penn State was forced to confront the issue.

TRAINING RULES was co-directed by Academy Award-nominated director Dee Mosbacher and Academy Award winner Fawn Yacker .

"The Boy With the Sun in His Eyes" (now available)

From Todd Verow, the director who brought you “Vacationland” and “Between Something and Nothing.”

Kevin's (Josh Ubaldi) funeral rockets John (Tim Swain) into the orbit of the flamboyant Solange (Mahogany Reynolds), a b-movie actress/one hit wonder best known in Europe for her roles in 80's Italian horror movies. As John follows her into heady whirlwind romances with cute French pop stars and deadly (but hot!) Milanese model managers, they barely survive murderous performance artists in Paris and fatal gourmet food poisonings in Italy. John begins to realize that Solange's world is far more complex and dangerous than he could possibly have imagined. Her chosen lifestyle abounds with trips, tricks and traps.
Based on the novel by James Derek Dwyer, Todd Verow's THE BOY WITH THE SUN IN HIS EYES is a sexy-smart, absurd comedy, poverty-jetset homage to 80's cinema featuring new music by Sally Shapiro, Ben Onono, Plateau Repas, Paramo, Team Plastique, Colin Owens and William Bottin.

"The Butch Factor" (available late January)

Former Atlantan Christopher Hines’ informative, entertaining documentary on masculinity in the gay community not only features several Atlantans, but Woof’s Sports bar as well. From clones to queens, Bears to gym rats, twinks to queers, the gay community has embraced and objectified men of every stripe. Christopher Hines' documentary - part socio- logical study and part pin-up calendar, tackles them all. Profiles include the Atlanta Venom gay softball team, and their sponsor, Woof's, one of the first gay sports bars in the country. Kevin Reed discusses problems of homophobia in the African American community. Vince Calvarese touches on being a big and burly out member of the police force, while embracing his feminine side to defuse tense prison situations. On the less testosterone-heavy side is Mark Snyder who is empowered by his effeminacy, (see his 'sissy' tattoo), and refuses to be deterred by the violence he faces. The director also presents recent changes in cultural norms of masculinity, such as the 'bromance' and the metrosexual, while excavating the past for images of the mustachioed 'clone' and stereotypical queen.

"Hollywood, je t'aime" (available now)

"Hollywood, je t'aime," a big hit at Out on Film, is now on DVD.  Starring Chad Allen and the luscious Eric Debets, it's an offbeat, charming fish out of water tale.

Director: Jason Bushman

Producer: Charles Herman-Wurmfeld

Starring: Eric Debets, Chad Allen, Jonathan Blanc, Diarra Kilpatrick, Michael Airington
Run Time: 97 (min)

Synopsis: After a breakup, gay Parisian Jerome impulsively books a solo Christmas vacation to Los Angeles. Like many before him, he plans to pursue his secret dream to become a movie star – and, of course, to find love along with fame and fortune!

Completely naïve about what he is getting into, Jerome hooks up with some colorful locals, and stumbles headlong into an acting role. Nothing about Hollywood quite matches Jerome’s fantasies, however, and his misadventures are both hilarious and touching.

Bright, funny, honest and utterly charming, Hollywood, je t'aime is a stunning debut for director, Jason Bushman, and is produced by veteran filmmaker, Charles Herman-Wurmfeld (Kissing Jessica Stein, Legally Blonde 2, the Hammer). Eric Debets shines as Jerome; his classic look and an amusing ease with his own awkwardness are evocative of Buster Keaton and Marcel Marceau. Cast includes Eric Debets, Jonathan Blanc, Diarra Kilpatrick, Michael Airington and the fabulous Chad Allen (Save Me, Third Man Out, Shock to the System).

"Shank" (available now)

From TLA Releasing comes "Shank," the explosive film festival sensation, directed by 21 year old Simon Pearce. Worlds collide as the lives of Cal and Olivier intersect in SHANK, a gritty coming of age/rites of passage drama. Cal, an 18 year old Scally lad and gang member has nothing in his life except drugs, sex, random acts of violence and a secret that he keeps hidden from his mates. An online hook up for sex with a stranger, temporarily satisfies but fails to dampen his unspoken desires for his best mate, Jonno. Nessa, their twisted, foul-mouthed and controlling gang leader, suspects that there is something going on between them but she can't put her finger on it. Jonno, putty in Nessa'a hands, can't express his own deep rooted and unrequited attachment to Cal. Manipulating situations that bring her closer to having her suspicions confirmed, Nessa sets out about dividing loyalties and encouraging conflict.
